threading lies in the dark

threading lies in the dark

Shedding skin
more skin,

exhausting a book

the weavers,
those with inflammation
or disease
of the breast, sent

to

my father, patron of

Edessa
Cairo
architects
construction workers
aside: sometimes a prisoner
even pyrotechnicians.

dead leaves,
a dirty dig

truth never whispers.

I sank my teeth
into the flaking stucco,
salt crumbled
undressed house.

Stranger #4: Edd

Stranger #4: Edd

Tina and I saw a dog in the window on the street in Clayton, Georgia. A woman comes to the door and invites us to come in. Turns out, it's a camera store.

The owner (this fella) was also there. At first, he was friendly and pleasant enough...talking about the town and giving suggestions of things to do in the area. He also said that he's a professional photographer, and a researcher. I told him that I am a researcher too.

Later on, he asked me what kind of research I did. I said psychology research. He responded, "I've blown a lot of psychologists' minds with the things I can do."

"Oh really..."

"Yes. I can make people feel things with my mind. I can cure people too."

"Oh. That's interesting..."

"Do you want me to demonstrate on you?"

"No...I'm not really comfortable with that. But I wouldn't mind to hear more about it."

....etc etc....

Then he said that some guys from Duke were studying him and that he "make their equipment go nuts."

So, basically, he isn't a researcher...he's a research participant for people studying holistic medicine and extraordinary mental abilities. Very strange...and creepy.

Oh, then Jonathan joined up with us and volunteered himself (see below)...he told the guy he could feel a tingle in his hand due to his mental powers, but he later told us he didn't feel anything.

Then it we booked it out of there, even though it had started raining.

I was in Georgia for less than an hour and I met someone this interesting. What are the odds?

For anyone interested:

His name was Edd and he said that a researcher at Duke named Levengood has published research on his 'abilities.'

I haven't yet gotten a chance look them up.

Effective Bullshit for the Blagging Student

Effective Bullshit for the Blagging Student

No need to View on Black - I've already blagged it and used inverted type.

I've been doing some reading recently about urbanism - I'd forgotten how much academic language pisses me off - I'm fine with unusual words to wrap up complex and unusual ideas - but just using them for their own sake is literary masturbation and vanity in my opinion. The aim should be communication not a demonstration of how wonderfully erudite you are.

Solipsism: I took the red pill
